D2 photos
A phew of our phave photos from D2. Chapman, did you say "sword drill"? Attack!
We have now created an online photo album to post all of our photos from each week of camp (this site couldn't handle so many pics). Check it out at www.campfirebiblecamp.myphotoalbum.com. A nice bonus is that you can order prints of your camp highlights from the site (although, sadly, no profits flow to Campfire! from the sale :( ... ).
Campers and counsellors: if you have photos that you would like to add to our online album, please e-mail them to us and we will (subject to our rigourous censorship review) post them for you.

Welcome Chapel!
New chapel pavilion
Our new pavilion is now open for (God's) business. Thanks to Mark V. and crew for their hard work in getting everything completed on time for us to enjoy our Thursday and Friday chapels outdoors, as well as our closing ceremonies. We loved listening to Chapman's shouts of joy echoing into the forest beyond. Thanks also to Spruce (a.k.a. Bob the Builder), our new property manager, for hammering together a snappy easel for our new chapel whiteboard.
On Thursday morning we commemorated the opening of the new pavilion with a ribbon cutting ceremony. Our two youngest campers, Magoy (sp?) and Flower Girl took the honours.

Discovery Week 2 has now come and gone. We continue to praise God for his goodness in watching over our summer camp programs. Enjoy more photos at our online photo album.

Zonq's Birthday
On Friday, July 7th, we celebrated Zonq's 19th birthday up at camp. Zonq, aka Peter Vlaardingerbroek, is our Assistant Program Director, a member of the summer staff here at camp. However, due to the LORD's different plan, Zonq was not able to join us for Sprouts week. Last Friday his girlfriend, Miriam Fluit, was involved in a serious car accident, and Zonq's place since then has been at her side. Here at camp we have lifted up many prayers for Miriam and Peter and the Fluit family, as well as the other families affected in this horrible collision. We can thankfully say at this point that Miriam is doing very well. We know many from Campfire! circles were inquiring about her, and so we would like to direct you to the wonderful blog the Fluit family has set up to report on her progress. Miriam still has a long road ahead and we ask you all to continue to remember her, the Fluit family, and Peter Vlaardingerbroek in your prayers.
So, although Zonq could not be there, we certainly celebrated his birthday Campfire! style. We made a cardboard cutout of Zonq, which is very realistic...:)
We were also able to call Zonq and sing Happy Birthday together, enjoy some birthday cake, and make him some cards! So we truly celebrated. Here's the staff picture, with Zonq just looking fabulous:
Zonq, we hope to be able to see you up at camp soon!

Campfire! kicks off!
Campfire! is off and running again for another summer. Today the flag was raised while we sang "O Canada," and so Sprouts Week and Campfire! 2006 begins. This is our tenth full summer of operation - God truly has blessed us incredibly. As staff, this summer we've decided to attempt to maintain a blog as the summer goes. We'll report on all the highlights and post some of our favourite pictures! Please add your comments and enjoy the site!
We will also be maintaining an on-line photo album at www.campfirebiblecamp.myphotoalbum.com. Please be sure to visit our album for loads more photos of each week of camp.
